You have a faith based diet. Faith based diets have no business having mandated government labels. There is not a single scientific reason for the government to mandate labels based on breeding methods any more than forcing any other faith based labels.
You don’t seem to read what you’re responding to, or perhaps you just have limited reading comprehension. I am not anti-GMO, as I have said multiple times. I don’t want the labels because I personally want to know about GMO in my food; I think the labels should be there because that is the democratic will of the people. You trying to turn this into personal attacks just shows how weak your position truly is.
There is no scientific reason not to have GMO labels. It is not a scientific issue either way. It’s a political issue. You are taking the political position that the public demand for more information on food labels should be subverted. That is not a scientific stance; that is a political stance.
You trying to label this as a scientific issue is deception. You’re being anti-democratic, you’re championing ignorance, and you’re trying to label it as being scientific, which only hurts actual science advocates because people see through this and it makes them suspicious of anyone going around making claims about what is or is not scientific. Science is not a cudgel to be used to whack your political opponents over the head with bogus appeals to authority, and using it as such is just a form of bullying.
That makes you a part of the problem, not a part of the solution. You’re not advocating for science when you use deceptive or abusive tactics. You’re hurting science.
You “wanting” a label is not enough to demand forced speech. It’s just a temper tantrum, nothing more or less. But have fun with that.
It’s not about me. It’s about millions of people. In a democracy, if enough millions of people want something, that’s supposed to be what happens. It’s also not a speech issue. We are talking about products, not people. Products do not speak. People do speak, though, and in the most recent polls, 88% of them say they want GMO foods labeled as such.
