Why is this being regarded as a courageous move on the part of the Harvard Republican Club? Why does anyone even care? Couldn’t we basically just rename this group the Future Goldman Sachs Bankers Club? Is it any surprise the members of this club do not want to officially endorse Trump against Clinton, when the latter caters to Wall Street — a bastion of Ivy League privilege — arguably more than any candidate in history?
A courageous move would be the Harvard Republican Club endorsing a different candidate, not just taking the easy road and bashing Trump. This is like calling Elizabeth Warren courageous for trolling Trump on Twitter. Not really. It’s incredibly easy and incredibly safe to hate on Trump because Trump is a bloviating clown. Going after such low-hanging fruit is not what principles are made of. There is nothing courageous about that.
I’m waiting to be impressed.
