Very true. We’re well into 2017 and if you google Jill Stein, you see that people are still blaming her for the outcome of the 2016 election. Blaming women is wildly misdirected.

Anyone who thinks critically about this knows that it is foolish to blame any one person. Neoliberalism is what’s to blame, and that is far bigger than any person. It has hijacked the entire Democratic Party and eroded the confidence millions of voters had in Democratic politicians. Even if you want to blame Comey, remember that he was appointed by a Democrat. And, even if you want to blame the outdated electoral college system, remember that it wasn’t addressed at all when the Democrats held the presidency and a supermajority in Congress, when they could have preempted the 2016 election’s results.

I won’t say that neoliberalism has made victims of the likes of Clinton or Maddow as it has millions of people around the world, since both Clinton and Maddow are elites who have amassed personal fortunes of tens of millions of dollars in the wake of neoliberalism taking over the Democratic Party, but it did cost Clinton the election in 2016.
