This is the point I’m stuck on:
Several women who have worked closely with Senator Franken, both in his capacity as a senator and during his time at SNL, have come forward to defend him. Yet their words received barely a scintilla of the media exposure Leeann Tweeden and her uncorroborated claims did.
The no-spin facts seem to be:
- Franken was accused of misconduct;
- Franken apologized to his accuser.
Everything else seems like a bunch of opinion and conjecture. And this is before you consider that Tweeden is not the only accuser to whom Franken has apologized for misconduct. It may be true that the Alt-Right has a bunch of people pushing propaganda around the clock, but it’s neither here nor there when it comes to the facts in the cases of Franken’s misconduct. Just because villainous sociopaths hate the guy doesn’t mean he gets off the hook when he does something wrong.
