Don’t let anyone mislead you out of the truth.

This is easier said than done. The ability to distill the truth from the information you are given is a function of critical thinking. If our schools are failing to teach children critical thinking skills, is it any wonder they are so easily misled by counterfactual claims when they grow up to be voting adults?
