Masculinity has nothing to with your hobbies and everything to do with your character.

It is the capacity to defend yourself physically. You don’t have to be a Navy SEAL or a fifth degree black belt, but you should be able to deal enough damage to anyone trying to hurt you that they leave you alone.

This is an illogical assertion. What if the other party is a Navy SEAL or fifth degree black belt? Are you going to be able to deal enough damage to them if they’re trying to hurt you so that they leave you alone? I doubt it. You have literally contradicted yourself in an effort to peg masculinity to some ability to deal damage.

It seems more sensible in a world of Navy SEALs and fifth degree black belts to learn other methods of conflict resolution and self-preservation than dealing damage. If it’s not masculine to be sensible, I guess I’ll stick to sensible.
