If scholarship was about the search for knowledge and truth, why certify it with a degree? Why charge so much money for it?
Universities are in the business of certifying knowledge, that’s how they make their money. If you want “truth and knowledge” go to the library, it’s free.
There are a few gaping holes in this line of thinking:
- Libraries are not free.
- Libraries are not equivalent to universities.
- The University of Oslo charges $0 in tuition yet still awards degrees.
