I agree it is certainly unhelpful when people worship political systems and structures as holy things unto themselves — which is what I interpret you to mean when you say, “unfortunately, religion is politics”. Is that right?

The piece I linked to goes into more detail about that, but it boils down to how two Christians can read the same Biblical passage and come away with completely opposite interpretations of how that passage should be applied in life and law. And the difference in those interpretations can be traced to politics. How you interpret Scripture is intertwined with your politics.

Also, you’re super right when everyone who believes, by default most of the time believes they are right. What would this look like from the Satanist perspective? How do you process doubt and hear from the Devil?” (please forgive me, if that’s not the term your community uses).

By and large Satanists are atheists. I am an atheist. I don’t believe in a literal Devil, nor do I hear anything from such an entity. Satanism is an example of a secular moral framework that asserts positive, generally humanistic beliefs that go beyond the atheistic statement of non-belief in deities.

Just the facts: Writer. Gamer. Feminist. Educated in Astrophysics. Professional Gambler. Student of Language. Satanist. Anarchist. He/Him.
