Ruling the country by Executive Order appears to be easy — why even engage congress — but what happens to Cabinet appointees (all of whom were held to a higher ethical standard than the President himself) who refuse to comply with an edict by a president in ethically questionable standing?
That seems like a pipe dream. I have no faith in any of these appointees to refuse to comply with Trump based on anything resembling ethics.
There’s no real case law around the Emoluments clause of the Constitution — is the clause itself outdated and legally flawed?
It probably is. Kind of like the Second Amendment.
