The writing on the wall implies that something is inevitable but hasn’t happened yet. If your job has already been replaced, we are far passed the writing on the wall stage.
Thanks for the semantics lesson, but you missed the point I was making. You can lose a job, but the writing on the wall is about how millions of people are going to lose jobs.
If you haven’t already, I would recommend looking into universal basic income. I’ve proposed a version of it on my website (see my bio). I’m sure the version I’ve written about isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t seem fair to try to hold a double standard in place. I would rather apply one standard that values people equally and skills comparatively.
If you’re recommending I look into UBI, you obviously didn’t read the first post I made very carefully.
