Unlike some in the media, the numbers don’t lie.
On this we agree. You mentioned this Daou person was an adviser on Clinton’s ’08 campaign. Let’s take a look at some of that campaign’s numbers. First, her top contributors, as compiled by Open Secrets:
Now, the sector breakdown of the contributions to her campaign:
Those are the numbers. The cold, hard, incontrovertible facts. Do you care that Clinton took $21,046,385 in contributions from the Finance, Insurance & Real Estate sector? Do you care that her top five contributors included Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Citigroup?
I’ll bet some people care. I’ve heard some sage advice about this sort of thing:
If we don’t learn from our mistakes, we’re doomed to repeat them. A media that continues to feed into their worst impulses is a detriment to our democracy.
Quite astute. Instead of whining about Trump’s incompetence and asking the opinions of a guy like Daou who advised in multiple losing campaigns, maybe the media should try to figure out what really happened before Kid Rock makes us long for the halcyon days of Donald Trump. Maybe the media should realize that it and the failing Democratic Party were complicit in allowing a complete buffoon to end up in the White House.
