Even more startling, while covering the campaign last year at dozens of rallies, I’d see TV news “reporters” yacking it up with campaign advisers in the press “pen,” looking as if they were sharing stories of their old college Keg stand days.
Maybe they were.
A lot of the elite, be they in politics, journalism, or the propaganda hybrid we see in the major parties and mainstream media today, went to the same elite schools. It is unrealistic to expect college buddies to not rub shoulders and reminisce when they get together, but it is realistic to try to get TYT reporters to understand that the very real social and human connections this group of elites has is the product of a deeply entrenched set of privileges that influenced the trajectories of their lives before they were even born. You will never eliminate corruption in politics until those privileges have been dismantled.
Also, as some others pointed out, if TYT is going to venture into the realm of the written word, you guys should use some of that Indiegogo loot to hire some copy-editors and writers. Hit me up if you’re interested. I like you guys and would gladly help you out, even if I do consider you not quite left enough for my tastes. Except maybe Jimmy. He gets it.
