David Brock is not a centrist, and neither is George Soros for that matter.
According to Media Matters own website:
Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation
in the U.S. media.
LOL did you just cite Media Matters own website as an unbiased source of information about Media Matters? They’re in the propaganda business, so you’ll forgive me if I don’t care one iota what they have to say about themselves. David Brock and George Soros are centrist, corporatist, and establishment. They have absolutely nothing to do with the left wing.
I should also point out something that may not be obvious to you. Putting out anti-conservative propaganda against the right wing doesn’t make you left wing. It just makes you anti-right wing. You can, for instance, be a centrist and be opposed to far-right nonsense such as climate denial or restrictions on reproductive rights.
If you want to get an idea of what the left wing looks like, compare the likes of Noam Chomsky or Cornel West to Brock and Soros. You’ll see they have enormous ideological differences.
You’re spinning your own propaganda with that one. Both are left leaning in the candidates, policies, and organizations they support or run.
Not remotely. They are 100% establishment Democrat. That is not left leaning or left at all. That is centrist and corporatist.
People can protest as much as they want, but true progressives need to realize that marching against one billionaire in support of another is hypocritical. I know many progressives who are unaware of Brock and Soros and had no idea they were participating in protests organized by people that don’t really share their values.
True progressives don’t need to realize dick. If two billionaires have opposing views and one of them happens to be an objectively morally superior view, good for that billionaire. Brock and Soros love to disrupt Trump. It’s precisely in line with their centrist Democratic perspectives. It also happens that people opposed to fascism also love to disrupt Trump. It’s precisely in line with their anti-fascist stance.
The Trump administration is diabolical enough that it’s pretty easy for a wide range of people who aren’t Alt-Right trolls or spineless Republican yes-man to be in opposition to it, even if they don’t agree on other things.
