Let me stop you right there. Your read on Weinstein could not be more wrong. The guy uses sockpuppets in his own Twitter replies to argue with people who call him out when he supports or reinforces bigotries with his uninformed takes. That is some cowardly bullshit. He's also a bully in that he routinely wields his substantial platform to badmouth liberatory movements and anti-racist political stances. He's constantly punching down at activists and regular people who have small fractions of the power and privilege that he does.

As a theoretical physicist, he is entirely ignored, and his crackpot theories are roundly rejected by actual working physicists whose lives do not revolve around pseudointellectual podcasts. You don't have to believe me on this. Read the documentation:

He also pushes anti-vaccine conspiracy theories, trucks in low-grade Sinophobia, and engages in other nonscientific and anti-intellectual jibber-jabber. And, yeah, working for Peter Thiel while pretending to be anything other than a tremendous blight on society is laughable. He's simply not to be taken seriously.
