If Assange has committed any crimes, they are entirely unrelated to espionage or American national security. The greatest irony is that, if he did commit any sexual assault crimes in Sweden, the prosecutors there dropped the case against him because there was no way they could possibly get him to Sweden to face the charges, specifically because of American and British meddling. The US and Britain are not only actively creating a grossly unjust scenario for Assange himself, but actively impeded justice in the only jurisdiction where he may have committed a crime. If he really did have victims there (which we’ll never know), they will never get justice, and that’s entirely on the US and British governments.
