That is ok. We don’t have to agree. Only thing that bugs me about it is the fallacy you’re engaged in regarding the message you are sending — no one will receive it.

In my opinion, at this point in our broken and rigged process, the time to do what you are suggesting is inside the primary — not during the general election. It is ok for us to disagree about this point.

But I’m not a Democrat or a Republican. I will not be coerced into joining them, either, just so I can get a chance to vote in their sham primaries. To me, it is more important to make our voices heard in the general election, because we cannot roundly reject the Democratic or Republican parties as brokers selling our country to the highest bidder if we play by the rules they have set. If American democracy is ever going to be worth anything, we need these corrupting agents gone, and that will never happen if people keep voting for one or the other of them in the general election.

The revolution has already begun. The graph I posted shows a clear rise of the Independent segment of the voting public. I want people to know it is OK to be Independent and it is OK to vote for someone besides the major party candidates. It is OK not to take part in primaries. I want people to vote their ideals, beliefs, principles, hopes, and dreams — not their fears. I want people to add their votes to the momentum of liberation. When enough people are empowered to do that, we will see an end to these failed, oppressive, corrupt institutions known as the Democratic and Republican parties.
